“This has been an amazing journey and I’m thrilled to have had Ari as a coach. In my review last month, my boss actually told me that she’s noticed a change in my overall demeanor. Internal departments have commented that my team is the most organized and easy to work with.
I’ve been able to separate myself from work, take control of my life and have a balance that I haven’t had for a long time. Finally I feel that I’m able to lighten the load, while maintaining a high level of respect and a good work ethic.
If you need a way to balance a high demand profession and your own personal sanity – talk to Ari!”
“Coaching gave me back my hope that I could do the job I’m being asked to do and the job I hope to have someday. I believe my life is sustainable because of what I learned from you. You took my words and helped me see the ‘next step challenge’ that flowed from them… You were always professional and inspired me to become more so myself. I felt respected and ‘met’ where I was.
You have been absolutely terrific! I have and will continue to recommend you to friends and colleagues.”
“Ari is a fantastic coach. I have learned so much about myself and how I want to be in the world through the work we have done together. I feel like I know more about what I want and how to get it and what is not so important anymore.
Coaching has given me many tools to lean on when I am not sure what to do next – questions to ask myself, rituals of self-care to comfort and calm me, internal resources so I can solve my own problems.
Coaching has also given me power and control over my own life. It’s like having a best friend, wise grandmother and the smartest person you know all giving you advice at the same time – and then you realize you had the answer all along!”
“Ari gives the right amount of tough love, patience, warmth and insight and her sessions have proven invaluable to me. Results will not happen overnight, and there may be times you might feel like banging your head when you’ve hit a mental/emotional roadblock. But if you stick with Ari and the program, I can personally guarantee amazing, transformative results.
Since the coaching sessions, I have enrolled back in school, learned more about myself in terms of passions/hobbies, began to get my finances in order and learned how to effectively manage stress at my job. These are just of the few of the tangible benefits that the coaching program has had. The intangible benefits include more confidence and higher self-esteem, to name a few.”
“When I started coaching, I felt ‘stuck’ in my dating life and stagnant at work.
I feel considerably more optimistic about my future, now. I’ve built a strong sense of who I am and what I am capable of now. I found the courage to talk to my boss, after 3 years of avoiding it, about my professional future. Also, I feel ‘clear’ mentally – I have a much stronger grasp on what I want and don’t want professionally and personally. I still struggle with doubt, but I have skills I can use to attack that and I know where I want to be going.
I loved coaching, Ari and the process.”
“Ari creates a safe place to assess the impact of your leadership and relationships. It isn’t about where you need to learn to do better. It’s more about maximizing each interaction through self-management to be the best you can for those you interact with regularly. No matter where you are in your effectiveness, the insights and exercises she prepares will help you glean a greater understanding of self and situations to be the most impactful in all you do.
I now have self-assuredness in my work and interactions. It is more driven by internal principles than negotiating my surroundings toward a goal. I didn’t lose my confidence, but I gained self-assurance.
From a short-term perspective, I think my experience would have changed me for the worse if I didn’t have the chance to process it with coaching. Coaching gave me the positive reinforcement I needed at the right time, so that I could move past it and better understand myself and my impact.”
“When I started, I really didn’t think this would work well for me. Yet, nearly a year later now… it has. My perspective has changed – and it has freed me to think, work, and act differently.
Ari has been honest, appropriately confrontational, supportive, insightful. Her decision to confront me at one point with the fact that my stated values were at odds with a reality that she saw, was very difficult for me. Those really were my values – and she was right – my work life was over-riding those values. Now I’m enjoying parts of my work again – over the last two years, I was just surviving it. I have ‘my’ life back – my average week is probably 50 – 55 hours instead of 70, and my kids now recognize me again. Coaching has given me back my life and my sanity.”
“Coaching has required me to be the person I want to be. It’s given me the perspective to see my challenges and plot a course of next steps. It’s reminded me that I can make the seemingly impossible, possible. It’s brought me clarity that I can’t avoid.
Ari is able to understand who you are very quickly. She can help you gain perspective on your areas of weakness and provide a clear framework of what to do with that information.”
“In the first two sessions, we identified the things that matter most to me in life. This set me in motion to move on to a more spiritual path in life and has opened numerous doors for possibilities for the future, and has helped me to enjoy my current job a lot more while I am still there!
I am also grateful for the exhortation to incorporate spontaneity and rewards into my life on a regular basis, and to enjoy the journey (rather than always waiting to get to some ‘destination’ before I can enjoy life).
Ari is very positive and affirming, inspiring, perceptive, have great ideas, great resources and is excellent at what she does. I’m grateful to Ari for making this such a positive, productive and validating experience, which also left me brimming with possibilities for the future.”
“I found Ari insightful and delightful and never short of tools. It’s sort of like hiring a professional plumber rather than getting help from a handy friend; the pro has everything he needs, knows which tool to apply, knows where it is in the box and can grab it quickly, and even has the arcane tools that rarely come out but are the only ones that work for a particular problem. I think she is a great talent and a powerful contributor to a better world.”
“I’ve been able to take the pressure off of myself… I’m getting more comfortable asserting my true self when it comes to my career and my personal life. The most important thing for someone to know about coaching is that having someone besides yourself to be accountable to makes you much more successful.”
“Ari’s energy and enthusiasm are contagious – I think of her as my personal cheerleader. She listens and offers positive feedback, and constructively fine-tunes and enhances my ‘game’. My heart smiles when I think of the experience!
Through a variety of circumstances, I’ve had before me the opportunity to shape and create for myself exactly the life that I want. Hiring Ari as my Coach at this particular time in my life was one of the best gifts that I have given myself. I am truly grateful!”
“I felt like I was at a dead end in my life and I was starting to feel depressed – I already had anxiety and other issues being caused by my stress levels. Coaching has helped me to see that there is no such thing as a dead end. I can achieve just about anything I want to – I just have to do my research and prioritize my action steps to achieve any goal I have.
I also didn’t think I could get back into music at the point I was at. I really thought my life was not meant to take the path I initially thought it would, so I thought I had given up on that goal and wanted to go a different direction. Ari sensed that I wasn’t finished going for that goal and she helped me to see that there are still a lot of options for me to look into. I came to the conclusion that if I want this bad enough, I will do everything I can to get qualified for the jobs I want (if I’m not already qualified!).
Ari doesn’t give you the fish. She TEACHES you to fish. That way, you can use those tools in life long after you finish working with her.”
“A rewarding experience both personally and professionally. Whether working with the staff to help them look at creative problem solving or presenting on strong coaching and mentoring skills, Ari’s presentations have been informative, organized and beneficial to the staff.”
“Ari’s a great listener; I really retain and process everything we talk about – which makes it possible to make insightful connections that can be very helpful from week to week. She’s also very sincere in her passion for and encouragement of her clients.”
Real-life stories from Ari’s clients
Change your perspective; change your life
Jennifer was a mid-level manager at a large financial corporation. A new position opened in her department and she wanted to go for it, but she was very uncomfortable with the idea of “selling herself” like a door-to-door salesman hawking his wares. With Ari’s help, she was able to shift perspective: instead of “selling herself,” she would think of her strategy as educating her boss about her qualifications for the position, something that Jennifer could do with confidence. As a result, she impressed her boss and got the promotion.
Uncover what’s holding you back and there’s no stopping you
Sara was a senior director at a healthcare company. After years of long hours, she felt she was becoming bitter and burned out. All her efforts to achieve better work/life balance were unsuccessful. Ari’s coaching illuminated the unconscious fears that were holding her back, including a fear of others judging her work ethic and a fear of failure. Understanding these fears gave her the fire to make changes. She began to let go and trust her team to do their jobs instead of handling everything herself. She also began working from home early in the morning so she could leave the office by 4:30 p.m., allowing her time for yoga and training to run a marathon. Sara is now working with Ari on her transition to pursuing her passion of becoming a yoga instructor offering coaching retreats.
Ask for what you want—and you might get something even better
Liz was unhappy in a job at an Internet service provider where her skills were underutilized on a team that wasn’t a good fit. She was beginning to think leaving was the only way to advance her career, but fear of launching a job search left her frozen in place. Ari helped Liz think through and bring clarity to her situation, which gave her the confidence to act. Liz developed a slide deck explaining how she could contribute and how the company could benefit if she were in a position that made better use of her skills. Her boss—who valued her contributions but wasn’t aware of the mismatch—was impressed. As a result, Liz was offered three positions to choose from. She is now much happier in a position with more responsibility and exposure in a department that interests her.
